Anirban Basu

Anirban Basu is a Professor of Health Economics and the Stergachis Family Endowed Director of The CHOICE Institute at the University of Washington, Seattle, with joint appointments in the Departments of Health Systems & Population Health and Economics. He is a Research Associate at the US National Bureau of Economic Research and an elected Fellow at the American Statistical Association. His work sits at the intersection of microeconomics, statistics, and health policy. His research focuses on understanding the economic value of health care, generating causal evidence, and, lately, on the potential for discrimination with machine learning and artificial intelligence algorithms. He served on the 2nd Panel on Cost-effectiveness Analysis in Health and Medicine and serves on the Editorial Advisory Board for Value in Health Journal. He received his MS in Biostatistics from UNC-Chapel Hill and a Ph.D. in Public Policy Studies from the University of Chicago.

Debasish Deb is a seasoned professional with 30+ years’ experience working in different categories across multiple countries. 

Deb has lived and worked in multiple countries across the USA, the Middle East and South Asia, and brings the richness of that experience of working in diverse roles in different cultures.

Deb has worked for The Coca-Cola Company for 16 years in India and Bangladesh, and with PepsiCo for 4 years in Bangladesh.

Deb has also lived and worked in Dubai for 5 years initially as CEO of the Consumer Business at Al Khayyat Investments and later as Executive Director of Treadstone Consulting FZ LLE.  During his career Deb has also worked for Citibank N.A. and Price Waterhouse Coopers. Currently, he specializes in Leadership consulting and Business Advisory operating extensively in India, the Middle East and in Southeast Asia.

Deb holds an MBA from the Simon School of Business at the University of Rochester and is a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
